What are Friendship Groups?
Friendship Groups are home fellowship groups of approximately 12 adults,
married or single, who understand that the kingdom of God is the kingdom of
right relationships. Each group is committed to cultivating those kinds of
relationships with Jesus Christ as Lord, with one another as members together of
Christ’s body, and to the world in order to reconcile them to Christ.
Friendship Groups meet twice per month on the first and third Sunday evening
in one of the homes of the group members. They are under the oversight of
trained Friendship Group Leaders, who are accountable to the Group Coordinators
and Pastor Brian Richardson - Senior Pastor of Tracy Community Church.
Each group spends time in fellowship, worship, the study of God’s word and
prayer. Participation in Friendships Groups is an excellent way to reach out to
family members and others in the community that may not otherwise attend church.
The individual groups periodically participate in other activities and
outreaches such as special events during the holidays, barbecues, hospital
visitations and combined events where all of the groups can meet for fellowship
and sharing. Each group is a natural extension of God’s church.
